Sports are more than just a game – Throughout my experience over the years, I have had the privilege to learn about all the elements that make sports the phenomena they are today. This ranges from the media surrounding the sport, the equipment used in sports, to the teams who organize games and tournaments for not only the players but the fans.
My name is Gabi Best and I am currently pursuing my dream of working in a professional sports association at Golf Canada.
My position is Tournament Assistant has allowed me to showcase my organizational and communication skills and my passion for the sport, as we have been preparing for the RBC Canadian Open and CP Women’s Open.
I am a Western University and Fanshawe College graduate as I completed a 4-year accelerated dual Degree and Diploma program which includes a Degree in Media, Information & Technoculture from Western University and a Diploma in Broadcast Television and Film from Fanshawe College. I am constantly developing my knowledge and understanding of communications and how it enhances the consumer’s view of the marketplace.
My years at University provided me with an opportunity to be involved in and develop my communication and time management skills. I have assumed leadership roles and worked in group environments to develop opinions or solutions. I am open-minded and always appreciate suggestions from others to benefit the task at hand.
My passion for media has made me proficient in various computer programs including Microsoft programs, Avid, iMovie, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Cinema 4D and Final Cut Pro.
